A growing bunch of dynamic girls are showing up at That Girl's Lunch! They are coming from all walks of life and the diversity makes our time together very special. The photo below was taken at our April gathering at The Frosty Frog Creamery & Cafe. We enjoyed our typical schedule: meet & greet, ordering lunch, meet & greet, eating lunch, and oh, did I say meet & greet yet???? We take full advantage of the fact that this is a networking event. When we girls get together we talk. Chat. Share. Encourage. Cry. Laugh. You know, the stuff girls are made of. We share our faith and talk about the One who makes all things possible! Also, time is given for each girlfriend to stand up and introduce herself to let others know about her business/ministry/life calling. This is what weaves the threads of the net-work (sorry for the pun) together. This month's topic for our inspirational message was "Joy". "These things I have spoken to you that My joy may rem...

The women's ministry at our church hosts weekly Bible studies. We have seasonal sessions -- each one offers a wide variety of studies in the form of DVDs, videos, books, and study guides. Whoo hoo, what a blessing to all of us. When that happened I invited her to get together for some weekly one-on-one discipleship until our Bi...

God Knows About Her Nose!

This is a little story about the sovereignty of God. As you read on you'll be reminded that there are no surprises with God. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada. He is in control and He knows the past, present, and future of all things. For us there is only preparation for the next "event" in each of our lives....and my Father in heaven has already prepared the way to meet our daughter Mary's drastic need. If you read my previous blog you already know about Dr. David Edwards, the ENT specialist who is a prayer warrior and a highly skilled physician. And then you also know that my husband Don and our daughter Grace have experienced successful and extensive sinus surgeries with Dr. Edwards. Well, the providence and sovereignty of God continues to unfold: Mary was blessed to attend a weekend retreat in Gatlinburg, TN, with the young adult/college-age group from her church. My husband Don and I had, of course, been praying for her and all of the group. On Saturday afternoon while Mary...
