"WHO told you that you were....?"

Sisters, we've got to wake up and rise up to the truth of Scripture: "The devil is a liar and the father of lies. Lying is his native language!"  (John 8:44).  We need to encourage each other to stop listening to his voice and stop believing the negative, tormenting thoughts he puts in our minds!  This trouble started in the Garden of Eden when the serpent (the deceiving devil) told Eve if she would eat the forbidden fruit she could become "like God knowing good and evil." (Genesis 3:5). She believed him. Yep.  Adam and Eve ate the fruit and sin was born.  And it's just like it is for us today: the devil didn't twist her arm, yell at her, force her to eat it, or even shove it in her face. Nope. All he had to do was suggest something , she listened to his voice, believed him, and fell from the perfect life into a sin-sick world. He has already been defeated by the Cross of Christ; through Christ's Life of Perfection on earth, His excruciating death o...

On Track

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that so easily hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith." Hebrews 12:1-2 Our God has given us everything we need to stay on track to  run this race   of life on earth. Of course the   race   is a metaphor; a physical picture of a spiritual life in Christ on earth. The athletic competition of a race is mentioned often in Scripture: Ecclesiastes 9:11, Acts 20:24, 1 Corinthians 9:24, Galatians 2:2, Galatians 5;7, 2 Timothy 4:7, and of course,  Hebrews 12:1. In this highly metaphorical post I'm not going to call God our coach. He's not a coach who wears a ball cap. He is the KING of Glory who ultimately rules over the universe He created.  He is also our Father in heaven who delights in His children, loves us unconditionally, hears ou...

Cara, Team Tadsen, Bridal Crack & Ongoing Legacy :)

Sunday, July 25, 2017 Dear Reader,  Please see this as a journal written to bring God glory and to honor my dearly-loved friend Cara Tadsen. I'm compelled to write this journal because Cara never sought the spotlight. Never. Ever. She was a very private person who radiated the love of Jesus.  What comes to my mind is the verse,  "Let another one praise you, not your own mouth." (Proverbs 27:2).  So here is my little journal -- with ongoing, dated entries --  giving glory to God for the beautiful life and legacy of Cara Cashin Tadsen. Saturday, April 15, 2017 Pray 4 Cara My beloved friend and sister in Christ, Cara Tadsen, has been hit with a storm and it's turned into a tsunami of cancer. photo copyright Kevin Trotman Cara is the type of Christ follower who is always taking care of everyone else around her. She has always been like the Proverbs 31 woman who "works vigorously with her hands" and her "lamp does not go out at night." She is loving. Te...
