Why Is It So Difficult For US to Tell People GOOD NEWS?

After God changes our hearts and saves us, He commissions us. He tells us to go tell the Good News of His life, His death and His resurrection on behalf of His people. Not one Christian is exempt from this commission. (Not to mention that He promises His people "abundant life" (John 10:10) as well.) But it is an assignment that is a privilege and an honor because we are called to tell others Good News. Why would anyone hesitate to tell someone else Good News? It's a simple task. Everyone, I think, would love to hear GOOD news. Right? Hey, I have been in the writing media for a l-o-n-g time and news that sells the most newspapers and magazines is news that's not-so-good. Don't believe me? What are the cover stories of the magazines and newspapers in your grocery store check out lines? Answer: People's personal tragedies, whether they're true or not. Right? Quite often it's hopeless, violent, dramatic or exaggerated accounts of news in the world.

However, my Bible says, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News [gospel] to all creation." (Mark 16:15). Christians are commanded by God to tell everyone that there is hope, help and healing for their souls, their lives, their families and friends! It's an amazing assignment. It's one He equips us to handle...and He teaches us to handle it with grace. His grace, that is.

And just think, we don't even have to go find someone who needs to hear Good News. They are everywhere! In restaurants, shopping malls, grocery stores, dry cleaners, at the drive-thru restaurants, in parks, along jogging paths, in the stands at the ballgames, in our neighborhhoods, and even our relatives! Yikes! All around us there are hurting, lost, lonely, desperate people who need someone to rescue them from their dark pit of despair. Jesus is the only Savior who can meet their every need with His life, His punishment and death on the cross to take the place of our sins, His resurrection!

American needs help. America needs Jesus, needs to be Christianized! We've been called, Sistas & Brothers, to tell others the Good News. Our prayers and our testimonies to the lost can tear down the enemy's strongholds in America. Jesus did not say, "Stop!" Jesus said, "Go!"

May God have mercy on U.S.!
