Polly's Summer 2012 Book Club Study

Hello, Sistas!
Since most of us are on a summer break from our regular Bible studies, I'd like to invite you to join me in a six-week book club kind of study -- on your own and online! The study material is "Living Free" by Beth Moore. It's a passionate study -- of course -- that dives deeply into the word of God and deeply into our hearts -- if we're willing to go there!
I personally went through this study several years ago on my own and used it as a personal prayer and devotional time to purge dross and spend very precious time with my Lord every day! I absolutely loved the experience. In fact, I was so blessed by this study that I am thrilled that I'm going to study this book again this summer! This time I am inviting you to join me.
The small, paperback book is power-packed with truths and insights. It can be purchased online @ amazon.com (among other sites) and @ Lifeway Christian Stores. The cost is about $10.

If you don't want to participate in this community, I still encourage you to get the book and either study on your own, or create your own study group this summer. You'll be glad you did! However, if you decide to join  this community to study together, I will be sharing six "conversations" with you on this blog --since it's a six week study and each weekday has lessons.
I would LOVE to meet you back at this blogspot once a week to hear how Beth Moore's gifted teaching --and the Spirit of God have blessed you and awakened you to new and wonderful insights about yourself and our Lord!
I am planning to post my first "facilitator" post the first Tuesday in of June and then for the next five Tuesdays after that. Every time I post comments or questions I am hoping you will respond so we can get an edifying dialogue going about the contents of this book and how God is using it in our lives! So please, I would love to hear your comments!
So for all you busy moms, you sistas on vacations, and those who have to crunch very tight schedules -- you are not limited by what time of day to study and prepare to participate! It's your schedule! Yay!
Oh, Sistas, let's keep on seeking God in every season! I pray you and your families will have a restful, joyful summer!

    I am going to do my best to join you in this study!!! Yay for online Bible Studies!!!! Thank you for doing this, Polly! I will admit that I am going to miss seeing you on Tuesdays, even if it was just for a brief moment!

soul starving...anorexic faith

If I don't take a few brief moments to talk to God before my feet hit the floor in the morning, then I'll be starving my own soul of the strength and nourishment I'm going to need for the new day. I'll be hungry listening to my own voice, focusing on my own circumstances, and coming to my own conclusions about life. Yikes. Huge mistake. Why? God created me, saved me, unconditionally loves me and generously cares for me and I would ignore Him? "He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He himself gives all men life and breath and everything else" (Acts 17:25). BOOM! So if I chew on this truth for a while -- that all things come from Him and He controls everything -- why wouldn't I be hungry to know more of this Magnificent Savior? The Wisdom Lady

🎶  Worship Leader Grace Balint sings "Stronger"  🎶 I've met the wisdom lady.  I first met her many years ago in the book of Proverbs. God had just opened my heart to know Him so I was ready for the wisdom lady to open her heart to me! When I read her practical, rich words of life  I thought to myself. "Wow. Really? This is powerful. This is good stuff. This is so simple and wonderful...and these beautiful promises!"  Yep. Since then she's become a mentor to my soul. But not before God sent me through many painful storms and dark valleys over the years to show me it was not wise for me to try to control my little world. Hah! I admit it. Control issues cause pain.
