Need Refreshment?
Is life hard? Yes. Did God promise a perfect life when we become His? Nope. He told us, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world " (John 16:33). So what do we do when we feel like we are spiritually dry, physically spent, and emotionally drained? We run to Jesus to refresh us for He promises, "whoever drinks the water I give him with never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 4:14). In fact, He made several promises of His love, provision and protection! He said, "I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:9-10). Yes, life hurts. Yes, life is hard.
