Need Refreshment?
Is life hard? Yes. Did God promise a perfect life when we become His? Nope.
He told us, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
So what do we do when we feel like we are spiritually dry, physically spent, and emotionally drained? We run to Jesus to refresh us for He promises, "whoever drinks the water I give him with never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life" (John 4:14).
In fact, He made several promises of His love, provision and protection! He said, "I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:9-10). Yes, life hurts. Yes, life is hard. But God made a promise that "...everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God" (1 John 5:4-5).
I hope you'll keep reading and then click on the link below to hear a testimony of an overcomer. It only takes 10 mins/11 secs to hear a powerful, encouraging testimony of a woman--who in her agony--went to the Fountain of LIFE and was filled with Living Water. "If anyone is thirsty, let him[her] come to me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him[her]" (John 7:38).
WE are the Body of Christ. WE are the light of the world. WE need to be refreshing each other with His words of life, too! It is written: "Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." (Proverbs 11:25) Let's become a refreshment to others!
With a very thankful heart,

I welcome your comments.
A very encouraging post. I was reading an article today called "Are you listening?" on Charlie Stanley's Intouch minsitries web site that I found very helpful. One of the verses he quotes says, "The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is Everlasting" from Psalms 138:8. And thank you for the verses in your post, I have written them down as a source for encouragement
