He is our Healing Pool & Our Lifeguard
Jesus is our Healing Pool and our Lifeguard. He really is all that.
Well, I'll be first to dive into this and share what this truth bomb in Proverbs 21:30 meant to me when I read it on November 21. Yep. I like to include a chapter in Proverbs in my daily early morning Bible reading and prayer time.
In my struggles against sin; AKA old habits, old thinking patterns, and old behavior, I look forward to my one-on-one times with my Abba. Abba? Really? Yes! I still call Him Lord, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and God, at different times, but when I use Abba, it's when I sense Him so very close and personal. I feel His presence, in other words, and I'm acknowledging how his mercy and lovingkindness completely nourishes my thirsty soul.
I'm continuing to focus on a couple of prayers for God to help me -- as well as others daily on my heart -- to "throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us" (Hebrews 12:1). And another is asking God to, "instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; to counsel me and watch over me" (Psalm 32:8).
Jesus' most recent reply to my prayers was Proverbs 21:30, as if it was tossed to me as a life preserver! It is a powerful, loving reminder He is my Healing Pool and Lifeguard. He really does have the whole world in His hands and nothing can stop His purposes and His plans. Nothing. He is with us and for us in every way. So why worry? Why doubt His promises? He covers us with His loving power! He fights for us! He shields us! He provides! Read it for yourself. Every time a child of God reads His words in Scripture, we are invited to dive into the pool of Living Water, the Living Word of God!
Just like in John 5:6, where Jesus saw the crippled man -- we're all crippled in some way -- lying by the pool of Bethesda, and He asked him, "Do you want to get well?" and then Jesus said, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk. At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked."
Have you heard Jesus ask you if you want to get well from what troubles you? The healing begins by diving deep into the Living Water and drink deeply the supernatural life He offers all of us. It's a life of swimming in His Unconditional Love. But you have to find it our for yourself. He is The Life Guard of the Universe. Dive in, Sister.
He is all that. And more.
