Turning Our Backs on God in the Public Square Isn't Working
"If my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
Turning our backs on God in the Public Square isn't working for the healing of America.
Blaming public prayer in our government schools for our troubles and ruling to remove it hasn't helped anyone. Maybe because God says, "The fervent prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).
Looking to God as our Ultimate Authority isn't why we have a troubled nation, but national authorities decided to take down the 10 Commandments from our government buildings anyway. Wow. God says, "You shall have no other gods before Me" (Exodus 20:3). So whose law is America following and how's all this working for US?
Blaming unplanned, inconvenient pregnancies as our troubles and paying abortionists to dissect unborn babies to get rid of the problem...who wins with this one? "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13).
Taking away the people's Second Amendment for the Right to Bear Arms won't fix anything. Guns are not to blame. Guns do not kill people. People kill people! It's like saying, "That fork made me fat!" It's just a power play to want to take the guns to disarm (!) the public for control! Look at this: "Not a blacksmith could be found in the whole land of Israel, because the Philistines had said, 'Otherwise the Hebrews will make swords or spears!'" (1 Samuel 13:19) Guns are not the problem. The problem is US!
Our culture is the problem. For several decades, the American lifestyle seems to have developed into the days of the Book of Judges where "everyone does right in their own eyes," and severe judgement from God came upon them over and over...until they repented and turned from their sins.
And by the way, the Bible teaches racism is an abomination. It really does. But think about it, to be a racist doesn't make any sense because no matter our skin color or language we're still made in the image of God. And besides, the Bible describes who will be in heaven with Jesus, the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world, "I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands." Revelation 7:9. Period.
And still racism rages in America. February 23,2020, in Brunswick, GA, an athletic, 25-year-old black man named Ahmaud Arbery was jogging near his home when two white men literally chased him down in their truck, shot and killed him. Ahmad was exercising! He was totally unarmed and minding his own business.
Please go to the website RunWithAmad.com to sign the petition to demand justice for this hate crime of murder of a beautiful black man made in God's image! I signed the petition online and said they could publicly publish my name in the growing list of supporters seeking justice.
Look, I love God, I love my family, I love people from all walks of life, I love America, and all of my Father's beautiful world. My heart has been deeply grieved over all the widespread darkness of hatred, violence, and anger. And it's mounting. I was compelled to write this post today (on February 2018 and updated on May 7, 2020), because I know the answer to healing, restoration, and salvation. How do I know? Jesus saved me, and healed, restored me! I have found out for myself that God can move that huge, hindering mountain and shine the saving light through His own people... so healing can come!
Here is the answer:
"If My people,
who are called by My name,
will humble themselves
and pray
and pray
and seek My face
and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin
and I will heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
This is hope for the whole world.
"For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's (for the world) sake I will not keep still, until her righteousness shines like a bright light, her salvation like a blazing torch." Isaiah 62:1.
We must keep praying. And we can no longer be silent.
