Cara, Team Tadsen, Bridal Crack, & Beyond :)

Dear Reader,  Please see this as a journal written to bring God glory and to honor my dearly-loved friend Cara Tadsen. I'm compelled to write this journal because Cara never sought the spotlight. Never. Ever. She was a very private person who radiated the love of Jesus.  What comes to my mind is the verse, "Let another one praise you, not your own mouth." (Proverbs 27:2).  So here is my little journal -- with ongoing, dated entries --  giving glory to God for the beautiful life and legacy of Cara Cashin Tadsen. Faith or Frenzy?

Battle weary? We should never try to fight our spiritual battles alone. Our unseen enemy is vicious. We need to pray to God to step in and fight for us. He will. He does. He always wins, too. But we must go to God first. It's rejuvenating to "cast all our cares on God" (1 Peter 5:7) and in faith, rest in His love for us. Right? We're revived when we're resting in God because we're finally, actually trusting God!  We're thinking clearly, our prayer life is stronger, and our priorities are right, too.  And I mean, it's absolutely exhausting and stressful to be entangled in the frenzy of the devil's lies, isn't it? Not only are we battle weary from trying to resist evil in our own strength, we're totally "occupied" and distracted from " hearing our Shepherd's voice" (John 10). God's plan for us is to rest in His promises to: meet our every need (Philippians 4:19), be with us like a Mighty Warrior who defeats our ...

The REAL Church Lady Is Not Uptight, She's Upright!

The very talented actor Dana Carvey created and played a character on the long-running TV show, Saturday Night Live. He called her the Church Lady because she was created out of his childhood observations of women he saw on Sundays at church. These women obviously left a strong impression on him that they were very uptight, critical and frankly, perfectionists with stiff, pharisical personalities. In a biography, Mr. Carvey described how the women would take roll each Sunday -- in judgment of the no-shows. I imagine they must has also rolled their eyes and pursed their lips as Mr. Carvey's character did on Saturday Night Live. Dana Carvey as the Church Lady Carvey's Church Lady was his model of "religious" women -- in reality they were irreligious -- who lived with invisible walls surrounding them to keep others from knowing they had faults, sins, and short comings.
