Are You 'Breathless & Amazed' Too?
I'm there today, once again, trying to comprehend all of WHO GOD IS! I take deep breaths and shake my head in amazement of what is written in the Psalms about WHO HE IS!
Yep, another day, another privilege to run to my Father to seek His Face for nourishment, guidance and strength for the day. I always begin my private time with Him with the Psalms because I want, no, I can't wait to start my day with the worship of my Father. Yep, joyfully on my knees, the lifting of my hands, sometimes even sangin' somethin'. Well, no one but God can hear me so it's always a joyful noise to Him! Ain't no god like our God. Nope.
But I can't comprehend His greatness. It makes me get teary that Someone so much greater and more powerful than my imagination would take such loving care of me!
And so, this morning it happened again when I found myself reading Psalm 93, and it spiritually took my breath away as I was soaking in the powerful words of God:
"The LORD reigns, He is robed in majesty;
and is armed with strength.
The LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength.
The world is firmly established;
it cannot be moved.
Your throne was established long ago;
You are from all eternity.
The seas have lifted up, O LORD,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea--
the LORD on high is mighty.
Your statutes stand firm;
holiness adorns Your house
for endless days, O LORD."
Woah.
Whew.
Then it hit me.
My sweet SistaFriend Alison Everill is a gifted songwriter and a worship leader. She has a CD/album called "Breathless and Amazed."
THAT'S IT!
The presence of God in my life really does leave me breathless and amazed! And Alison is obviously so blown away by God's presence in her life she has already written all the lyrics, composed the music, and produced an album about it!
But, Sistas, that's what God does to all of His children who are hungry for Him. He feeds and nourishes our souls with WHO HE IS and equips us with gifts to share with the world.
Do you know Him? Have you surrendered your life to Him? Do you live for His glory? Do you know Him like that?
"Glorify the LORD with me;
Let us exalt His name together!"
Psalm 34:3
