Never Underestimate the Power of God's Love

Our 4-month old grandson, Jesse Agee. 

From the womb little Jesse heard the word of God spoken to him by His parents. Yep. Matt and Mary read Scripture to Jesse while he was still swimming in amniotic fluid.

They know God. They know they are living in God's love and power.

We did the same thing for our daughters, Grace and Mary, because we also know --by His grace -- the love and power of God. 

Power and love. Love and power. Whew. Two of God's greatest gifts to His children. The love of God can penetrate the hardest of hearts, and pierce the souls of infants and  elderly with salvation!  Nothing can stop God from fulfilling His purposes. Salvation comes from God! His purposes are heavenly!

Jesus doesn't sugarcoat anything because He only speaks truth. When Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts, we are hearing the truth in love.  "God is not human that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?" (Numbers 23:19).

Lying is not love. 

Jesus will always tell us truth because He loves us and because He is Truth. "I am the way, the truth, and the life..."
(John 14:6).

He warns us that we will have seasons of life that are very difficult and painful. "I have told you these things, so that you will have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).

When He saves us and forgives us for our sins, He is fully aware of our sinful state. "As a Father has compassion on His children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him, for He knows how we are formed, He remembers we are dust" (Psalm 103:14). 

He pours His Holy Spirit power inside us to overcome evil and to fulfill His purposes for our lives. We instantly receive His power in our prayers to see Him forgive us for our sins, move mountains, heal, redeem, save, restore, protect, provide, and even bless our socks off, and the socks of those for whom we're praying! Yep. He's like that. He's Awesome.

His Holy Spirit inside of us gives us the power to believe Him and the truth we find in His Word. He loves His children and He wants us to know His love and to share it with the world.

He wants us to be "rooted and established in love, [may] have power together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that [we] may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God" (Ephesians 3:17-19).

We're here on planet earth for God's purposes. He wants us to glorify Him and enjoy Him...forever! He wants us to enjoy His presence in this life! He loves us! Look at this:

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us..." (Ephesians 3:20).

Do we have the child-like faith to believe that God can bless our socks off with His love? Immeasurably more. According to the Holy Spirit power working in us. 

Matt and Mary are prayerfully and passionately loving little Jesse with this love because they know God is able.

Yep. He is truth.
