Perfect Peace. Our Passions for His Glory.

🎶🎶 Worship Leader Grace Balint sings "Surrounded" 🎶🎶

The LORD will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are stayed on You because they trust in You.
Isaiah 26:3

Enjoying the peace of God with our little grandson, Jesse Agee.

"Perfect Peace? Uh-huh. Yeah, right! Sure." That's what some will say.

The truth is, everything about the Christian life is supernatural because we serve and belong to a Supernatural God. Nothing about Him is worldly or material. He is a Spirit Who is more loving and more powerful than anything in the universe!

If we don't believe this truth then we are missing out on all the "love, power, and sound mind" ( 2 Timothy 1:7) God has already given us. Fear is not from God. That being said, we should resist fear and turn to God, preferably on our knees in repentance, and read our Bibles. "What?" we say. "Nope. Not gonna do it because then I'd have to admit I can't control my life's circumstances and that I need help! Then I'd have to confess sinful, self-centered thinking! Then I'd have to realize I've been believing lies and not believing God's faithful, powerful promises!"

He promises to love us. "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in His love" (John 15:9-10).

He promises to protect and care for us. "I have chosen you and not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be nothing and perish" (Isaiah 41:9-11).

Sisters, we need to attach ourselves to The Vine, He only wants the best for us! Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers: such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in Me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to My Father's glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." (John 15:5-8).

Sisters, fighting the world, our flesh, and the devil is a daily, ongoing spiritual battle for all of God's children! But Jesus has given us everything we need to overcome! Everything! "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness" (2 Peter 1:3).

By the grace of God, we have to get to the place in our lives where we truly believe there is no where else to go, but to Jesus, to find this perfect peace. He promises to give it to those whose hearts are consumed with Him. Stop running. Stop striving. Stop comparing. Stop being consumed with scrolling. Stop being devoured by the social media monster.

Jesus promises His children perfect peace when we set our passions on His glory. This perfect peace will be supernatural. Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).

Jesus wants us to be fruitful, joyful, faithful, thankful, and full of His light and life! We're only going to be free to enjoy supernatural peace in this crazy, angry world when we faithfully, prayerfully resist anything that comes between us and our Lord.

That's the secret, Sisters. When we are consumed with faithfully, joyfully following Jesus we'll have that peace. Yes! Look, He's got us surrounded! "The LORD's unfailing love surrounds those who trust in Him" (Psalm 32:10).

When we intentionally "Seek first the kingdom of God" (Matthew 6:33),  He'll take care of everything else. Everything.
