The Greatest Life Coach in the Universe
GOD really is the greatest "life coach" in the universe!
Have you met Him? Do you know Him like that?
We usually don't know Him as a wise counselor who's available 24/7 until we come to the end of ourselves and realize we can't do anything without Him. And all of that comes from God's pruning of a child seeking Him for healing of the brokenness, generational bondage, and just plain foolish choices!
Yes! One of the many awesome things about God is that we don't have to make an appointment to meet with Him. Seriously. We just open our mouth and call out to Him. He already knows what we need before we ask. (Matthew 6:8). He knows everything! Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth and it has been given to Him by God the Father! (Matthew 28:18)
How do I know this? Personal experience. Uh-huh. Spiritual battles, struggles with sinful habits. Loving, relentless prodding by the Holy Spirit to change and let go of baggage. We have to discover-- in our faith and His grace -- for ourselves that God really is who He says He is and that no one is greater...that no one has more love, more wisdom, and more power than God. Jesus IS the answer. There is no where else to go to find help, hope, healing, wisdom, protection, discernment, refreshment, love, joy, and peace!
When we get to that place of faith in God, then the work of fighting the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:1-12) is ignited as we struggle to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness! We have not arrived, at this point, we have just grown in our knowledge of God and He gives us strength to keep fighting our sin, our flesh and the devil.
Sure, it's a horrendous battle at times, but God never leaves our side! He counsels us with His Holy Word and gives us wisdom, encouragement and strategies. Below is a portion of the powerful instruction found in Proverbs 3. I encourage reading the entire 35 verses. It is beautiful!
My child, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will
make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of your crops;
then your barns will be overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
My child, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent His rebuke,
because the LORD disciplines those He loves, as a Father the child He delights in.
Blessed in the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding,
for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
She is more precious than rubies, nothing you desire can compare with her.
Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
Her ways are pleasant ways and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
Those of her who lay hold of her will be blessed....
